Harvest and process wolf willow together in a good way; hear teachings from this cornerstone prairie species while using all parts of our harvest. You’ll come to know this special plant and the many ways it has been woven into Métis culture. Take home samples, recipes, and teachings for a safe and responsible relationship with the Silverberry plant.

PROJECT: Explore the special connection between the silverberry (wolf willow) plant and the Metis people; try silverberry food and medicine recipes, and create a special necklace or rosary in the plains tradition.

INCLUDED: All materials provided including printed recipes and harvesting guide, recipe samples and your necklace/rosary to take home.

PREREQUISITE: None! Everyone who comes with respect for the teachings is welcome. Suitable for ages 10 and up (younger folks will require guidance from an adult with sharp tools such as needles).

WHAT TO BRING: Friday: Please dress appropriate to the weather with extra layers and boots for walking, water bottle.
