Join us for a session of tea towel weaving!

This towel is set up on an eight shaft floor loom with 2/8 cotton in navy, black yellow and brown. The woven structure is plain weave pattern floats in both the warp and the weft. Weavers will utilize 8 treadles and 2 shuttles to achieve the pattern. Customization is possible by changing the pink to any colour of your choosing.

This class is for weavers with some experience that would feel comfortable weaving on a four shaft floor loom.

Students will be given a print out with all the draft information, as well as a one on one demo on how to weave this project. You’ll be given tips on how to get a consistent results, straight selvedges and will have a little time to practice before starting your towel.

Students will weave a 20 × 30” (on the loom, before washing) hand towel.

Price includes loom rental, set up, cotton warp, and weft. No additional supplies are needed.

When you purchase a drop in, students can come to the studio to weave on the selected date anytime during the listed hours.

Depending on your speed, you will need approximately 2-5 hours of weaving to complete the 30” towel. Beginner should allow themselves the full five hours. Weavers with some experience will need anywhere from 1-3 hours.

All finishing (sewing, washing and hem) will be done at your own home.
