Celebrate the recent launch of instructor Alex’s book The Embroidered Closet with a workshop dedicated to clothing embroidery projects from the book!
PROJECT: Students will bring an item of clothing to embroider on. Examples of items that work well are hats, canvas shoes, jeans, t-shirts, knitwear fabric backpacks (basically nothing too stretchy). Students will have 18 project designs (from the book) to chose from. All materials are provided for the class, at the end of class you will be able to take home any supplies you were working with, plus a copy of the book! You can also purchase additional supplies to take home.
DISCUSSION: How to transfer your pattern to clothing, fundamental embroidery stitches, tips and tricksfor working with clothing, how to wash embroidered garments, and the use of stabilizers.
PREREQUISITE: None! All experience levels are welcome.
NOTE: Class size limited to 8 people. All materials provided. Masks Optional
CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to very small class sizes, we are unable to offer refunds on workshops. If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can send someone in your place. Any classes cancelled by us due to low registration or health mandates will have the option for a refund or transfer to future date.

Alex’s BIO: Alex(she/her) is a self-taught artist from Edmonton, AB. Her embroidery work is inspired by nature, and has many different forms from floral hoops to insect adorned clothing.
