Since early September I’ve been working at Stan Daniels Healing Lodge, a minimum security correctional facility for Indigenous men. Two residents are getting into tufting rugs and between our Tuesday sessions one of them has been making these beautiful beaded poppies for Remembrance Day.  I’m taking orders for him and the quantity is limited so head to my website if you’d like to purchase one. 100% of the payment will go to the artist.  Indigenous folks are over criminilzed and subsequently over incarcerated, an extension of the colonial agenda.  I’m lucky I get to bring craft into this setting and learn from and alongside other artists.  Don’t let your craftosphere get too insular, right?
