Join Ash Alberg from the Pembina fibreshed in learning how to eco-print with fresh and dried plants on fabrics. Suitable for all levels of experience, Ash will lead students through the processes of preparing protein-based and cellulose-based fabrics before students then arrange their own unique eco-prints. While the bundles simmer, we'll engage in conversations about ethical foraging, where to purchase natural dyes, local dye plants and the role of fibresheds, natural dyeing vs. eco-printing and the reasons you might choose one over the other based on your own materials, and troubleshooting issues. Come prepared to ask questions, take notes, make a bit of a mess, and have fun!
