Beginner Weaving - Weave a Cushion (Full theory plus set up demos)

Weaving is actually pretty easy, it's just the set up that is so darn complicated.  When you come to this class, the majority of the set up will already be done! The looms will be "dressed" and you'll be weaving in no time. That said, the set up and theory are important/necessary and also fascinating so we will spend about 2.5 hours going over that process.

INSTRUCTOR: Fern ($160)

PROJECT: Students will weave a cotton cushion cover using four shaft table and floor looms, exploring different patterns. Lots of colours and fibres will be available, you can pick and choose to your liking.

DISCUSSION: types of looms, loom anatomy, basic weave structures, project planning, how to wind a warp, how to dress a loom, basic finishing techniques

DEMONSTRATION: condensed version of how to wind a warp & dressing a loom

PREREQUISITE: None!  This is a beginner class, no experience necessary

NOTE: Class size limited to 6 people.  All materials provided,  45 minute lunch break, lunch NOT provided (fridge/microve available). Cancellations must be made 48 hours before class date for full refund. Class subject to cancellation if the minimum registration of 7 people is not met.  Class end time may vary by 15 minutes.
